I want you to consider the following scriptures regarding the necessity for spiritual fathers to arise:
“For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. “ 1 Cor 4:15
”And if Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear; for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do.” 1 Cor. 16:10
“Children’s children are the crown of old men, And the glory of children is their father.” Prov. 17:6
God is calling the Body of Christ to have relationships that go past the television screen, past the internet and radio, relationships that have a flesh-blood connection with a spiritual father. Through these, we find our glory. We receive impartation and affirmation.
“When I was my father’s son, tender and the only one in the sight of my mother, He also taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words; keep my commands, and live. Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.” Prov. 4:3-5
Closing prayer:
Won’t you pray this prayer for fathers and spiritual parents to rise up in the Body of Christ everywhere? Won’t you agree with me and begin praying for God to draw you to a spiritual father who will pour into you and pass a mantle onto you? Won’t you choose to be a spiritual father to the sons and daughters around you? This is the will of God. If you pour yourself into those to whom God directs you, your life will be more fulfilled, and you will complete your destiny.
Heavenly Father, as a member of the new covenant priesthood, I come to you through Jesus Christ, my Master and Lord, who is the High Priest of my confession. I ask you to guide me to a spiritual father and I ask that I be raised up to be a father to others.
I am loosed in the name of Jesus and in the kingdom of God to have a father/son (daughter) relationship. I thank you that the true light of Your love is shining in my heart. I come out of all forms of stubbornness, rebellion, hardness and resistance and I move into a teachable spirit of grace. I ask that you send fathers to those that need fathers, to put them in a place of sonship, mentorship and affirmation. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
