Spiritual fathers provide, protect, nourish, stand beside and shepherd their sons and daughters. Their hearts glory in the success of their children more than in their own accomplishments. These fathers complete their offspring, rather than compete with their offspring, according to the Word of God.
A true spiritual father does more than just provide for and protect; he brings spiritual and emotional affirmation. He brings a non-competitive attitude with his son or daughter. Their success exceeds his and this becomes his joy and his glory. His heart leaves a deep imprint, not minimizing, but rather edifying and building up his child’s heart, confidence, and destiny. This is the greatest need in the Body of Christ today!
As it says in Malachi 4:4-6, “Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
This great prophecy encourages me that the Lord will send a revival spirit, a prophetic voice, a spirit of Elijah, an anointing, that will turn the hearts of the fathers, of leaders, back to those that are struggling, suffering and drowning in disappointment and discouragement.
