“But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.” 1 Corinthians 14:40 (NIV)
Christ gives us power to do what He said we could do. He said we can sing, prophesy, pray in tongues, win the lost and build up the church. ‘In a fitting way’ denotes that these things be prioritized, given appropriate reverence, dignity and importance. In other words, that these things are not to be neglected, or belittled. Jesus has equipped us for every good work that He has purposed for us – and our power to do it is in the Holy Spirit. We have everything we need to live the life He has called us to, so let’s do it all – decently and in order.
