“And brought them out, and said, Sirs what what must I do to be saved?” Acts 16:30
This verse tells us that the Philippian jailer who beat Paul and Silas now found reason to fall at their feet and ask for salvation! It was the combination of the power of God effecting the structure of the prison and the compassionate nature of Paul and Silas to stay in their cell which created the environment for this miracle: the salvation of the jailer! Remember Paul’s vision of a man calling out to him, saying come and help us (v. 9)? I believe the jailer was that man!
God used Paul’s obedience to bring salvation to the jailer. Paul first defeated the spiritual attack of a Python spirit – first, it tried to seduce him (v. 17) and then to physically destroy him (v. 23-24) – and the Lord accomplished His will!
Ask God to show you your “Philippian jailer” and lead him to Christ!
