Preaching on the White River Indian reservation in the White Mountains of Arizona, the FIRE of the Lord fell on five young Native Americans struggling with an alcohol addiction. As I Ied them to Christ and severed that attachment to the habit that was destroying them, I watched the presence of God begin to envelop them. Spiritual fire manifested through profuse sweating that came from their face and arms, dripping onto their clothes. God was boiling that alcohol devil out of them! One beautiful young lady stepped up onto the platform with me, her skin glistening with perspiration, mascara running down her face, and she testified of this new experience. She began to speak with tongues and give God praise!
Isaiah 4:4 says, “…When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.” The process of God’s work in our lives washes us of our sins with the blood and water of Christ which came from His wounded side (John 19:34). Then the Lord applies “the spirit of judgment and of burning,” which are titles of the Holy Spirit, to purge us from the enemy! Pride, shame, addiction, guilt, poverty and sickness will be consumed when we wait patiently in the process of His divine fire!
What is the purpose of this cleaning and purging? It is found in the manifestation of His glory upon our lives. Verse 5 says, “And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defense (covering).” His desire is that we release His manifest presence in our homes and in our churches! But first we must walk the process: first the blood and water of cleansing, second the burning fire of purging. Then the beautiful glory will fall upon us and our families!
Receive the FIRE so you can be a habitation of His glory!!!!!!
